MALAYSIA DAY

Four years ago (in my second month here after my move back from New York), I took this photo and wrote this: “Happy Malaysia Day! I wish for us, the youth of Malaysia, all the progress we deserve. We will not be oppressed by your greed, your segregation or your will to make us believe we have no choice. We will persevere against all odds, against you.” While I’m no longer considered the youth of Malaysia, my sentiments of hope and refusal to give up on our country still remain the same. Forward, we go.
